Entry Requirement (International Students)

Bachelor of Music (Hons) in Professional Music – Students seeking enrolment in to BMus (Hons) must have minimum 5 credits in SPM and have completed the Foundation in Music with a minimum CGPA of 2.00.


Students entering the Foundation in Music must meet the following criteria:

1) 5 credits in O' Levels or any other equivalent academic qualification or better

2) TOEFL minimum score of 550
     IELTS minimum score of 6.0

3) Attend the entrance audition, music theory placement test and English placement test. Please click here for audition guideline and ICOM’s sample music theory requirement.

4) Meet medical examination requirements as imposed by the Ministry of Higher Education. To download the form, please click here

5) It is compulsory for all International students to purchase Health & Medical insurance through the college as imposed by the Ministry of Higher Education.

Students who don't meet the minimum standards based on the audition results will be either required to enroll for remedial classes to improve on their instrumental skills, music theory and English language skills or recommended for other programs offered within the college.Students should plan to pay extra tuition fees for the remedial classes.

Application Procedure (International Students)

To apply into the Foundation in Music

  • Fill up the application form (Click here to download the application form), complete with signatures of applicant and sponsor.
  • Fill up ICOM Admissions Questionnaire form (Click here to download)
  • Record and enclose a demonstration CD/DVD of your performance in three (3) different styles of music. (How to create a demo CD/DVD?)
  • Attach certified true copies of your academic certificates/results.
  • Attach certified true copies of your music certificates/results
  • Attach 4 passport sized photographs
  • Attach 2 photocopies of Passport (the entire passport book from front cover to back cover must be photocopied)
  • Attach a copy of the TOEFL/IELTS score
  • Send the application form and attachments to:

Note: All documents submitted have to be translated in to the English language.

Upon approval, the candidate will be given a Pre-Admissions letter in to the Foundation in Music /Bachelor Of Music (Hons) in Professional Music

The student will then have to pay the following:

  • Immigration bond (amount depends on country of applicant)
  • Stamping fee

Together with the above, the student will have to sign 3 copies of the immigration document.

Once we have received the above, we will then send the documents to Immigration for the process of visa.

The admissions office will keep in touch with the student on the approval of the visa and will coordinate flight details and airport pickup.

The admissions office will also assist the student in accommodation.
